1/13/10 ERIC MILLER & TOM HALL NAMED PROMOTERS OF THE YEAR AT SLINGSHOT BANQUET
The annual Tobias Slingshot Tour Awards Banquet was held on Saturday January 9, 2010 at the Lantern Lodge & Convention Center in Meyerstown, Pa. Over 200 racers and promoters attended from as far North as Quebec, South as
Florida and West as Minnesota. Awards for all the Slingshot touring series were given out as well as for both Senior and Junior Slingshot champions from each of the over 20 sanctioned speedways in the United States. The Caroga Creek Champions who were recognized were Senior Slingshot Champion Tom Rontondaro and Junior Slingshot Champion Mike Voght.
The evening awards program concluded with the naming of the prestigious "Promoter of The Year" award where successful promoters are nominated and then voted on by their peers. This years top award went to co-promoters Eric Miller & Tom Hall of Caroga Creek Raceway. These two have been nominated ever since taking over the reins of the speedway 3 years ago. It was noted that when they took over the speedway there were 3 slingshots running for points, compared to this years over 20 at times.
